The device should be connected to the PowerBook communication port.

This is the version number of the Chooser program.

To use your printer port for a device connected directly to your computer, click Inactive.

To use your printer port for a device connected through a network, click Active.

To connect a device to the printer port, click the top icon.  To connect a device to the modem port, click the bottom icon.

To select a device, click a name in this list. The list contains devices of the kind selected in the box to the left.

To select a network zone, click a name in this list.  A zone is a group of networked devices.

To choose the kind of device you want your computer to communicate with, click an icon in this list.
